Leading on Opportunity is a task group that addresses the social and economic divide in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. The main task is to investigate why the odds of moving out of poverty are so low for children born in the United States.
On June 10th, the signatures of more than 1,000,000 UltraViolet members were delivered to the California Commission on Judicial Performance office in San Francisco for the removal of Judge Aaron Persky. Activists rallying outside were also joined by bicycle billboards that read: “Protect Survivors, Not Rapists. #PerskyMustGo.” This was inspired by testimony from the survivor who praised two Stanford students on bikes who saw the rape, and intervened to stop it.
